Qi and MagSafe need proper coil alignment and a pad that supplies enough power.

Checklist

Center the phone; remove metal credit cards from MagSafe wallets.
Try another pad and wall brick rated for wireless fast charge.
If the phone is very hot, charging pauses—see 80% charging.
Wired charging still works? Likely pad or alignment—not the phone’s main charge port.

After hard drops, coil damage is possible—get service after backup.
