Windows and iPhone USB: 2026 Checklist
April 9, 2026
Most “iPhone not showing up” tickets on Windows trace to one of five things: bad cable, front-panel USB, missing Apple drivers, Trust prompt dismissed, or security software blocking AppleMobileDeviceService.exe.
Five-minute pass
- Rear motherboard USB port; data-capable cable; try another PC if available.
- Install or repair Apple Mobile Device Support from Apple’s Windows support page or iTunes Microsoft Store build.
- Unlock iPhone → tap Trust → enter passcode.
- Services: start Apple Mobile Device Service if stopped.
- Read iTunes won’t recognize iPhone and 0xE80000A.
Then install the latest i4Tools for desktop workflows.
