Turn Off Find My Before You Sell

Find My ties to Activation Lock. Most buyers and recyclers refuse a locked phone.

While you still have the phone

• Settings → [your name] → Find My → Find My iPhone → off (enter Apple ID password).
• Then erase: factory reset guide.

If the phone is gone

Use iCloud.com → Find My → Remove from Account after erase completes. See Activation Lock explained and trade-in checklist.
