Can’t Sign Out of Apple ID (Grayed Out)

The Sign Out button disables when a policy or child account prevents leaving the signed-in state.

Common causes

• Screen Time with account changes restricted.
• MDM / supervision from employer or school.
• Cellular plan accounts that manage Apple ID for the line (varies by carrier).

What to do

Review Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions; check for profiles under VPN & Device Management. If the device is not yours, you cannot ethically bypass MDM. Back up first: Backup & Restore.
