FaceTime Stuck on “Waiting for Activation”

Apple’s activation for iMessage and FaceTime uses your Apple ID plus a quiet SMS handshake on some carriers. If anything blocks that, the toggle spins forever.
Check in order
- Settings → General → Date & Time → enable Set Automatically.
- Sign out of Apple ID for Media & Purchases only if support asks—usually fix is under Messages and FaceTime sign-in.
- Toggle Airplane Mode; confirm you can send a normal SMS (not iMessage) if your plan requires it.
- Wait after major iOS updates—servers can lag.
